Demo · Sizing and the upgrade

Two questions and two numbers, on the same call.

Ask both while you are still on the demo. You are recommending they start with what is included, and letting them know the rest exists and can be priced.

Ask both, right after the demo

Two questions. That is the whole thing.

1
Would your managers want to see their team's tasks?
What is included is scoped to the person. A manager sees their own work, not the team's. If the answer is yes, that is Expanded After Call, and you can quote it alongside.
2
Would you want alerts beyond a critical customer issue and an account threat?
Those two come with the seat, to one group. Custom triggers, or separate groups for different parts of the business, are Expanded First Alert, and you can quote that too.

How to position it

My recommendation is to start with what is in the seat, because it covers most of what you just described. If either of those is a real need, I can put both numbers in front of you and you can decide.
Then confirm two numbers

You cannot quote without these.

How many seats

Count the business, not the handsets. Back office, field staff, managers and owners get the same seat with no extension. Ask who ends up owning follow-ups, not who has a phone on their desk.

How many minutes

Each seat includes 300 minutes a month, pooled across the whole account. Ask roughly how long people are on the phone. A heavy user is fine, the pool absorbs it. Check your own rate card before quoting anything above the pool.

The one thing not to do

Never let someone believe an upgrade is included. Naming the line during the demo costs you nothing. Discovering it in month three costs you the account.
